Christopher Tiedeman began his musical training at age 7. A gifted young tubist, Chris won the International Tuba and Euphonium Conference’s Young Artist Competition in 2000. After graduating from Stadium High School in Tacoma, Washington, he attended the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, New York as a student of Don Harry. Additional teachers and

mentors have included Tommy Johnson, Ivan Giddings of Giddings Mouthpieces and the Cameron Gates.

​Chris joined “The President’s Own” United States Marine Band at the age of 19 in 2002, and enjoys an extensive playing career around Washington D.C. In demand as a chamber musician and soloist, he solos often at the annual Tuba and Euphonium Workshop hosted by the United States Army Band, is a member of Valor Brass Quintet since 2004 and appeared at the 2018 Great American Brass Band Festival as a featured guest soloist in Danville, Kentucky. In addition, he regularly appears with the Baltimore and National Symphony Orchestras.
